The Art Show is now on view in the Art Atrium. Students in art classes had the opportunity to display the favorite pieces that they have created this year. For those who are unfamiliar with the location of the Art Atrium, the art is displayed on the first floor near the B-hallway. The pieces are in mediums, including ceramics, photography, painting, drawing, and digital art.

Senior Kate Campbell, a student in AP Ceramics, who has her art displayed in the show said, “The art show is a great opportunity for students to show what they’ve been working on all year to family and friends,” adding, “I’m most excited about my rhino piece. It was the largest and most difficult piece I worked on this year.”

Junior Jude Wilkenfeld, who takes Photography, is also excited about the show. He said, “The last two years, I’ve really enjoyed being featured in the art show, because it allows me to showcase my photography to the wider B-CC audience.”

The students who have their work displayed in the art show are typically those who have been passionate about art throughout their years at B-CC. The featured art is produced by students in classes that go beyond the required art credit. These classes have students who are devoted to art and choose to sign up for further experience beyond the basics.

Campbell said, “I’ve never really thought about taking art in college, but I may see if I can take a class next year, since I am really enjoying Ceramics this year.”
