Fall sports have come to a close, and winter sports are now in full swing. Girls’ basketball had a great run last year and plans to keep up the good work for the 2025-2026 season. This upcoming season, the head coach shifted from Coach Ingalls to Coach Fitz, introducing a possible new coaching style while still incorporating Coach Ingalls’ technique.
Though Coach Ingalls will not be forgotten, she still plans to be very involved with the program as the assistant coach to Coach Fitz. The girls have constantly been an exceptional team, and this year, Fitz intends to keep the expectations high. “Our eyes are always set on putting banners up in the gym…Obviously, that’s a goal of ours, to try to get there again this season and compete for the Region Championship as well,” Fitz says.
Going in with a positive attitude is absolutely critical, she explains, “We’re going to have a good time doing it. We’re going to have good sportsmanship and bring in the community, kind of all those same program things are going to stay consistent this season as well.” Barons are thrilled to see what Coach Fitz has in store for the girls over the coming months and have no doubt they will have an excellent season.
Sasha Moriarty is a Junior at B-CC, entering her second year playing Varsity Girls’ Basketball for the Barons. Moriarty made Varsity in her sophomore year and continues to be an influential player. Moriarty is excited to make new memories this season with the Lady Barons. “I’m most excited for our games this season because they’re really exciting and it’s really fun to do our pre-game rituals.” With the head coach switch, Moriarty is looking forward to strengthening her relationships and the team.
“It’s exciting to have [Coach Fitz] as our head coach, because I really like her, and I think she’s a really good coach.” Morality is focusing on her own personal goals, playing the best at all times.
Friday, December 5, 2025, at 7:15 PM, the Lady Barons will take on Richard Montgomery away at their high school.
