Macbeth has come to B-CC! The B-CC Theater department’s fall play, a rendition of Macbeth, will be performed on November 13, 14, and 15 at 7:00 p.m., with an additional matinee on the 15th at 2:00 p.m.
The play, first written by Shakespeare in the early 17th century, recounts the story of Scottish general Macbeth, who murders the king and seizes the throne, ultimately becoming a ruthless despot. The story includes elements of witchcraft, suspense, and murder.
Head of the B-CC Theater Department Jacob Verga explained, “I had toyed with the idea of doing a Shakespeare show for the past two or three years…I felt that where we are right now as a department, we could do a really good job telling this story.”
When asked why someone should watch Macbeth by BCC Theater, Mr. Verga asserted, “the story that gets told during Macbeth is just as interesting and engaging as any TV..It’s like Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad.”
Concluding, Mr. Verga expressed his pride for the job the cast has done learning Macbeth: “the cast and crew really came together to make this show happen…you can see that the actors are doing a great job, and all the technical elements come together perfectly, and it just looks so nice.”
