On the afternoon of Tuesday, June 9, 2026, B-CC’s newest incoming principal, Dr. Howard, visited room F120 to meet with Ms. Fishel’s leadership class and next year’s SGA. During the meeting, she introduced herself and shared how she envisions the coming school year.

Dr. Howard has been working as a teacher for 24 years. She earned her doctorate from George Washington University and began her teaching career as an English teacher. She previously had worked at three different schools with many leadership roles and is currently an assistant principal at Winston Churchill High School.

Throughout the discussion, Dr. Howard emphasized the importance of having strong relationships with the student body and ensuring everyone feels heard. Equity, school spirit and participation are also incredibly important. “B-CC is now my home, and I want it to be a family where everyone works together for the collective good,” Dr. Howard stated.

The incoming principal is deeply connected to her students, and aims to actively spend time in classrooms to watch B-CC’s strong, vocal advocates in action. She believes in fostering hands-on growth rather than passive participation, noting, “B-CC students are doers. You are advocates for what you believe in and are not afraid to speak up.”

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Howard is an avid fashion enthusiast who enjoys running and yoga, and is a proud mother of three daughters. As the 2026–2027 school year approaches, the B-CC community can rest assured that the school’s leadership is in capable hands. Dr. Howard’s focus on classroom achievement and meaningful student connections will guide our community toward a successful future.
