After a dominating regular season, B-CC finished with a 19-1 record and achieved the best record in the entire county, as well as the most regular season wins in program history. With such an impressive record, B-CC qualified for the County championship for the first time in program history.

Friday night was a packed environment as the Barons strolled into Richard Montgomery to play the Clarksburg Coyotes in a heated matchup for the County Championship. Clarksburg defeated the Barons 53-49 at the Palace back on January 24th to give B-CC their first and only loss of the season. With the past loss in the back of the Baron’s heads, B-CC was starving to get another chance to defeat the Coyotes.

The first whistle blew and Clarksburg jumped out to a great start against the Barons. At the half, the Coyotes led the Barons by fifteen and were in full control of the game. But, B-CC continued to fight back in the second half, grabbing the lead back late in the 4th quarter. B-CC allowed only 14 points in the second half after switching to a half-court press on defense. The Barons ended up winning the game and brought home the County championship. Star senior guard, Anna Tercyak led the team with 18 points to propel the Barons to victory.

By bringing home the County Championship, the Barons are going to be the team to beat in the playoffs and the players are well aware of it. Star junior guard Elisha Robinson expressed, “Our main focus heading into the playoffs is to continue to get stops on defense and use our speed to push the ball on offense.” With playoffs around the corner, B-CC knows the pressure is on them, but are ready for the challenge.

The Barons first playoff game is today, March 1st, at 6:00 pm. Show out at home to support your County Champions as they host Winston Churchill in the Regional Semifinals!
