The Barons Ice Hockey Team destroyed a combined Northwest and Quince Orchard team last Friday, January 5th at Cabin John Ice Rink. B-CC got out to an early lead and never looked back winning with a score of 11-2.

B-CC started the first period strong with a goal scored by sophomore Brady Page, assisted by senior Aleksandr Talty. NW/QO then bounced back with a goal of their own. Senior Collin Eccles then scored, assisted by senior John Bruun. The first period ended with B-CC leading 2-1.

The second period was all Barons with an early goal scored by sophomore Peter Lanpher, assisted by Talty. Talty then scored a goal of his own, assisted by seniors Danny Loughlin and Bruun. Senior Will Swann then scored an unassisted goal of his own to add to B-CC’s lead. The Barons didn’t let up with another unassisted goal by senior Alex Elias, a goal by freshman Leo Alley-Strocher assisted by Lanpher, and to end the second period, Eccles scored his second goal of the game assisted by Bruun. The second period ended with B-CC leading 8-1.

The Barons continued their dominance into the third period with an early unassisted goal by Talty for his second of the game. Shortly after, senior Sebastian Harrison scored an unassisted goal of his own. Junior Evan Williams scored the final goal for the Barons, assisted by sophomore Grady Jiggens. In the final minutes of the game, the combined NW/QO team scored a goal of their own. The game ended with B-CC winning 11-2.

When asked about what clicked for B-CC during their big win, senior Aleksandr Talty said, “We played with a chip on our shoulder and wanted to make it known that we are still the team to beat in the playoffs.”

The Barons play next this Sunday, January 14th, at The Gardens Ice House in a rematch against the DC Stars.
