B-CC trounces Wootton

The B-CC wrestling team continued their season this past week with two events: The Musselman Duals Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 15, and another dual meet on Wednesday, Dec. 20 against Wootton High School.

The Barons performed well on Saturday, in a tournament that required them to travel across state lines to West Virginia. B-CC placed 3rd out of 21 teams, a respectable finish. The stars of the show were Senior Captain Seth Weaver, who went 8-0 with five pins, Sophomore Felipe Jacome, who went 8-0 with six pins, and Senior Adin Eisler, who went 5-0 with 4 pins. Eisler remarked, “Towards the end of the tournament, it felt like I was God.”

On Wednesday, B-CC crushed Wootton 72-9, continuing a trend of mostly dominant wins. The contributions were immense, with 12 B-CC wrestlers achieving pins, adding up to all 72 of the Barons’ points. “We are going to keep working over the break to come back as good as we can,” commented Junior Zach Cannistra. The Barons will start 2024 with a dual meet against Churchill High School on Jan. 3 at 6:15 pm.
