The Barons started their season on Saturday, Dec. 9, and despite the hard fight, lost their first meet of the season.

Although the result was a loss for Boys Swimming, many members of the team turned out amazing performances. Junior Kieran Lakham led the pack, winning the boy’s 100-yard backstroke event.

Sophomore Hailey Hammond won the 200-yard freestyle, after a competitive fight from the Girls Swimming squad.

Boys Diving saw a third-place finish from Sophomore Lucas Gerlach-Mack in the one-meter dive event, which showcased a strong performance from the divers.

Girls Swimming team member, Sophomore Avery Moffitt blew away the competition in the one-meter dive event with the final score of 66.70, over 2 points above the next closest competitor.

The swim and dive team looks ahead to next week when they will take on tough challenger, Wootton High School, at 9:15 am on Saturday, Dec. 16 at Kennedy Shriver Aquatics Center in Rockville.
