Girls Basketball on a Roll: Next Game Tonight Against Wootton

David LeCours

Here come the Barons! B-CC’s girls basketball team looks to keep their season alive tonight at 6 p.m. at Wootton High School.

On Friday, the Barons finished their season sweep of Walter Johnson with a 51-18 win against the tough Wildcats squad. Plenty of Barons got in on the scoring. Sophomore Jaylin Harried led the team with 10 points, followed by senior Zoe Posner who scored nine points, and sophomore Frances Doyle who put up eight points.

The last time the team traveled to Wootton, they were handed the third of their four losses this season in a tough defensive battle that ended with a final score of 35-42. Revenge is at the top of the checklist tonight!

Things are different now; after a tough loss to Churchill in January, the team turned things around and won nine straight games to end the regular season with a 17-4 record, including major wins over the highly-ranked teams of Seneca Valley and Clarksburg.

“Wooton is really good, but we have a lot of confidence that we will win tonight,” says junior Riley Peterson, who plays Forward.

Everyone is encouraged to buy tickets on GoFan and support these Barons on their road to the state championship!
