The Robo Barons, B-CC’s Robotics Team, claimed three awards and five trophies from VEX Robotics’ STEM Gym VRC High School Tournament on Saturday, February 11. Teams B and C beat Greenbelt MD’s Team 53 and qualified for the Maryland State Championship.

Team B also won the Think Award, an honor that recognizes effective and consistent programming strategies, for its reliable autonomous programming and clear explanations of its management process. Team C took home the Robot Skills Champion Award and the Build Award. The former commemorates the team with the highest robot skills score, while the latter recognizes the team with the most durable, robust robot.

When asked about their win, Vince Csajbok, captain of Team C, stated, “Work hard, play easy. Last Saturday, there was no play; we were all business.”

The Robo Barons look forward to the Maryland VRC High School State Championship on March 4, 2023, at Dundalk High School in Baltimore, MD. Fans are encouraged to come out and support them.
