The Girls Cross Country team won the 2025 Maryland State Championship, with the boys finishing in third place overall. Junior Nya Stoian led the girls’ team with a first-place individual finish. The team’s impressive performance demonstrates its strength and dedication. Both girls and boys showed their remarkable talent at the state meet.
The competition was fierce, but the Lady Barons rose to the occasion. Following closely behind Nya’s first-place finish was Senior Alexia Ladstaetter, who got fourth place, Freshman Mari Song in 22nd, Junior Ava Summerfield in 23rd, and Senior Eliana Dolven-Miller in 25th. Eliana stated that running in such an important meet was “definitely very exciting.” Each athlete’s performance played a key role in the team’s win and proved how teamwork and support are the heart of Baron athletics.
Additionally, the B-CC Boys Team made their mark at the meet by finishing third overall. Standout runners include Senior Tobin Connelly coming in 9th, Junior Alec Mostofi coming in 14th, Senior Michael Habib in 19th, and Senior Daniel Skendaj in 23rd. They all contributed greatly to the boys’ strong showing at the state meet.
This year’s state championship was a true testament to the strength, dedication, and spirit of B-CC’s cross country program. Both the girls and boys demonstrated what it means to strive for excellence and represent their school with pride.
