The B-CC Varsity Basketball team took on four games in the span of a week, going 2-2 and taking down Churchill and Wheaton, while falling to Whitman and Wootton.
On January 10, the Barons’ first matchup of the week was against their rivals, the Churchill Bulldogs, whom B-CC defeated in a commanding 58-39 victory. This victory gave the Barons an overall record of 6-3 and a record of 2-0 within the division, at the time. It also extended their win streak to four games.
Following their win over the Bulldogs, the Barons took on the Whitman Vikings in the Battle of Bethesda. The Barons fell in a narrow 72-71 loss.
The Barons faced the Wootton Patriots looking to get back on track at home. Despite once again keeping the game close, the Barons were once again defeated in a heartbreaking finish, this time losing 76-74 in overtime. This game closed out the first round of division games.
On the very next day, the Barons were able to snap their cold streak with a big 70-46 win over the Wheaton Knights at home. They dominated from the start and maintained control for the entire game.
The Barons will look to stay hot as they take on the Clarksburg Coyotes at 7:15 p.m. on January 24 at home.
