B-CC Cross Country coach Gildon Kirk is a very understanding person. He’s not the type to yell or get upset easily, but he does expect a lot from people and lets that be known in a much more calm way than some other coaches might.
Kirk does so in order to try to get people to understand that they need to develop themselves in a certain way and that they need to be hard workers to have success.
Kirk has 10 years of coaching experience. He was the assistant coach for sprints and jumps for indoor and outdoor track for six years. This is Kirk’s fourth year as the head coach, and he will oversee cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track for B-CC.
Outside of coaching, Kirk’s hobbies and interests consist of watching football and basketball games, playing golf, reading, playing video games, and hanging out with friends and family.
He’s a fan of the Washington Commanders, Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers.
“I like going to games when I can. I try to get to one game a season for football and I try to get to a Wizards game at some point,” Kirk said.
Growing up, he played soccer, basketball and baseball.
“The best part about all those sports for me was always whenever I got to sprint or whenever I got to run,” Kirk said.
