The Barons opened up their season with a home match against Winston Churchill High School last Thursday. The team took on the defending state champions, falling by a score of 7-0 after a hard fought match.

Despite the difficult cold and windy conditions, Boys Varsity Tennis displayed grit throughout the hard-fought competition against a their strong opponent. Due to recent inclement weather, two games were rescheduled for this week against Rockville High School and Richard Montgomery High School, respectively, including their match this afternoon, April 5.

Star Senior Manav Kilaru said, “We put up a good fight but Churchill is the best of the best. We really need to bring the game to our opponents and be aggressive from the start of each match. I think we have a great team and we can go far if we do that.”

Next up, the Barons will host a heated rivalry game against Walter Johnson High School on Monday, April 8 and will travel to Wootton High School on Wednesday, April 10 to face another strong team.
