On Friday, March 1, and Saturday, March 2, B-CC Wrestling completed their season with the Individual State Tournament. Five members of the squad participated, with four placing within the top ten.

Junior Ethan Makle finished a respectable sixth in the state in his weight class, with a final individual record of 35 wins and 16 losses. Freshman Kanik Deschene finished fourth in his weight class at the tournament, and ended with a final individual record of 40 wins, 10 losses. His brother, Junior Captain Nizhoni Deschene, narrowly missed out on a State Championship, with a second place finish. His final record came out to 41 wins, 7 losses. Finally, Senior Captain Seth Weaver had a second place finish in his respective weight class, as well. Weaver finishes his season with an impressive final record of 46 wins, 2 losses.

“I’m happy to say that we met some of our expectations this year by winning the Regional Championship, and made it to the State Semi-Finals. It’s been a great season for us, and even though I’m leaving, I can’t wait to see how the team improves next season,” commented Weaver.
