Barons lost to WJ in the final match of the regular season.

Girls Swim and Dive dropped to the Walter Johnson High School Swim and Dive team, 117-69. The boys also came up short against WJ in the final regular season meet with a score of 112-74 .

This is the first meet the girls have lost since their first week against the Wildcats. However, Sophomore Virginia Hinds gave a great personal performance, winning the 200-yard freestyle, and the 100-yard freestyle. In addition, Junior Audrey Gee won the 1-meter dive.

The boys saw improvement from their first meet against WJ, but the team ultimately did not come out on top. Giving outstanding personal performances, Sophomore Dylan Imirowicz won the 1-meter diving event, and Junior Clayton Waterman won the 100-yard butterfly.

The Barons look to bounce back as the postseason begins tomorrow, Feb. 3 at MLK Swim Center, where they will compete at the Division 1 Championships on Saturday.

About the matches ahead, Senior Kris Lakhe said, “Turn me up. We’ve been getting better, and we’re excited about everything to come.”
