Barons Ice Hockey dominates the competition

Barons Ice Hockey steamrolled the DC Stars last Sunday, Jan. 14, at The Gardens Ice House. B-CC scored early and didn’t stop, winning 12-0.

B-CC came out of the gates strong with an early power-play goal scored by Senior Aleksandr Talty, assisted by Senior Danny Loughlin. Talty wasted no time in scoring his second goal of the game, assisted by Senior Alex Elias and Junior Evan Williams. Senior Matthew Duffy joined the scoring train with one of his own, assisted by Senior John Bruun. Talty then scored his third goal of the period, earning himself a hat trick, and this one was assisted by Senior Collin Eccles. Sophomore Grady Jiggens scored, assisted by Williams and Senior Sebastian Harrison. The first period ended with B-CC leading 5-0.

The second period was once again controlled by the Barons with an early power-play goal scored by Duffy, assisted by Talty and Eccles. With the second period coming to an end, Harrison scored an unassisted goal of his own, bringing the score to 7-0.

The Barons continued to dominate in the third period with an early goal scored by Sophomore Peter Lanpher, assisted by Williams. Lanpher then scored his second goal of the period, this time assisted by Eccles and Jiggens. Williams scored an unassisted goal of his own. Eccles added to B-CC’s lead with a goal, assisted by Duffy. In the final minutes of the third period, Lanpher scored his third goal of the period, earning himself a hat trick, assisted by Duffy and Jiggens. The game ended with B-CC winning 12-0.

When asked about what factors led to B-CC’s big win on Sunday, Senior Sebastian Harrison said, “They were dust, and we’re sick. They didn’t stand a chance.”

The Barons look to ride this momentum into Senior Night tonight, Jan. 19 at Rockville Ice Arena.
