Barons Hockey took on Sherwood High School last Friday, Nov. 10 at Cabin John Ice Rink. B-CC dominated Sherwood for all three periods and won by a score of 11-1.

The Barons came out of the gate strong with an early goal by Junior Evan Williams, assisted by Senior Collin Eccles. Soon after, Sherwood scored its first and only goal of their game. Following this, Eccles bounced back with his first goal of the game, assisted by Senior Matthew Duffy. The first period ended with B-CC leading 2-1.

Eccles started the second period off strong for the Barons with his second goal of the game assisted by Duffy and Senior John Bruun. Senior Sebastian Harrison scored with a short-handed goal, also assisted by Duffy. Bruun then scored once more, this time assisted by Senior Aleksandr Talty. With the second period winding down during a power play, Talty scored unassisted to bring the score to 6-1 B-CC.

Talty continued his scoring streak with another short-handed, unassisted goal. Eccles then earned a hat trick, scoring his third goal of the game, assisted by Duffy and Senior Danny Loughlin. Sophomore Grady Jiggens made an unassisted goal, with Talty’s third goal of the game, assisted by Williams and Senior Alex Elias, earning him a hat trick. With the game winding down, Williams scored his second goal, assisted by Sophomore Peter Lanpher.

About their recent win, Senior Colin Eccles said, “I think it builds our confidence a ton. We had a rough start with losing the first couple of games, but going out there last Friday and proving to the league that we are still one of the top teams in Montgomery County with that score was huge for us. I really think there is a new vibe in the locker room, and we feel a lot more confident heading towards the halfway point in the season.”

B-CC Hockey looks to continue its momentum tonight, Friday, Nov. 17 against the DC Stars at Rockville Ice Arena.
