B-CC (3-3) controlled Wheaton from start to finish on route to a 42-6 victory on Senior Night.

The Guckeyson Memorial Stadium stands were packed in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Night, as fans showed support for the Barons in an important division game against the Wheaton Knights (1-5).  The Barons didn’t hesitate to put the game away, following a long kickoff that placed the Barons on their own 15-yard line. Senior Carson Griffey found fellow Senior Tristan Torabi wide-open over the middle for an 85-yard passing touchdown.  Following the strike, the Barons poured on the scoring, starting with Junior John Dale who ran into the endzone from 17 yards out. Sophomore Gabe Eisler then intercepted a deep pass on a Wheaton third down and returned it 60 yards to the house. They kept laying it on with Junior Sykim Paige and Griffey each completing a rushing touchdown.  Barons tallied 35 points in only the first quarter. B-CC scored once more with a second-quarter touchdown by Senior Khari Rodgers, and they flexed their defensive dominance throughout the game, only allowing their opponent 6 points for the whole game.

Following the win, Torabi sai, “We played a great game, and we are excited for the opportunity to win out the rest of the season,”

The Barons still have work left to do, with critical in-division games yet to come.  Next week they travel to Blair to take on a strong Blazers team. Then, they match up with Whitman and will finish the season against a good Paint Branch team at home. B-CC controls their destiny for a home playoff game, so this stretch is important.  Show up and show out to Blair on Friday to see your Barons in action!
