The Varsity Golf team took on Districts on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Poolesville Golf Course.

The Barons built on the momentum of their second-place finish last Tuesday, Sept. 26 with a great performance at Districts. The team fought hard, and after a grueling 18 holes, they qualified for States. When asked about what it meant to qualify for States, Senior Captain Asher Lewis said, “It feels rewarding and fulfilling to be representing my school at the state championship as a senior. All the team’s hard work is paying off, and it is nice to see the team’s growth both mentally and through our skills.”

The top four scorers from districts last Tuesday, including Junior Matias Losada, Senior Captain Asher Lewis, Senior Captain Bennett Galper, and Sophomore Ferris Smith, will represent B-CC at States on Oct. 23 at the University of Maryland’s Golf Course.

The Barons combined for a score of 414, and the top scores from the round are as follows:

Junior Matias Losada: 77

Senior Captain Asher Lewis: 83

Senior Captain Bennett Galper: 83

Sophomore Ferris Smith: 85

Sophomore Emery Brown: 86

The Barons’ next match is on Senior Night on Oct. 10 at Needwood Golf Course against Whitman, Sherwood, and Walter Johnson high schools.
