Coming off a dominant performance at Georgetown Prep, B-CC cross country faced Richard Montgomery on Tuesday, September 19th, and both the boy’s and girl’s teams took the win at Red Gate Park.

The boys performed exceptionally, all of the top 11 finishers in the race came from the B-CC team. First-place finisher, Hunter Whitten crushed the competition, running an 18:42 five-kilometer race. Caden Felten, Donavan Hicks, and Daniel Skendaj also broke 20 minutes and were the second through fourth-place finishers. Senior Lucas Cheplo, who finished 15th in the boys’ meet, said, “Everyone has been working hard to increase their speed and endurance.”

In the girl’s meet, the Barons also came out on top. The first four finishers were all from B-CC. Junior Annalise Bailin ran a 21:47 five-kilometer race, and Lilah Rich, Nya Stoian, and Morgan Kirsch also all finished top four.

Regarding the team’s upcoming meet, Cheplo shared, “We will need to keep training hard since every course is different.” The Barons look to continue their hot start at the Oatlands Invitational in Leesburg, Virginia on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
