B-CC boys soccer continued their 2023 campaign this week with a match at home vs. Magruder on Monday and an away game at Paint Branch on Wednesday.

On Monday, the Barons took home the win with a tight 2-1 victory over Magruder. Senior Emilio Castano and Junior Shaan Bhattacharyya scored goals, with an assist added by Senior Nathan Sop. Following the game, Castano commented, “It felt great to contribute to the win.” Castano opened his goal-scoring account with his first goal of the season this game.

On Wednesday, B-CC battled to a hard-fought 0-0 draw in a tough match at Paint Branch, with a defensive masterclass from both teams. Junior goalkeeper Max Quintana had a good game between the posts, making 9 saves in his first start of the season. He was filling in for Senior Noah Brown, who missed the match with an illness.

The Barons record is now 2-1-1, and they look to continue their winning season next week, with home matches against Quince Orchard (makeup game) on Saturday morning, and a marquee matchup Thursday night against Winston Churchill. Looking into next week, Senior Captain Dylan Weber shared, “There is definitely a different vibe in the air when we play a team like Churchill; there is always a shared buzz of excitement.”
