Is the Dress Worth the Stress?

Students have worried about perfecting their plan for arguably the most important weekend of the school year: Homecoming.

Homecoming is here. After the football game, tonight, at 7:00 PM, the Homecoming Dance is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 23 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.

Considering how long B-CC students have been awaiting this weekend, it is surprising how few of them have their plans set in stone. “Since it’s my senior year, I just want everything to go the way I have pictured it, but there are so many things to plan and so much can go wrong,” said Junior Mary Sheffield, adding, “It’s hard not to be a little stressed.”

Different people find different parts of the planning process stressful. “I ordered three dresses weeks ago and none of them were perfect, so I ordered another one,” said Sophomore Aubrey Green. While another student, Junior Fernando Castro, thinks the hardest part is, “finding a group to go to homecoming with,” adding, “You want to be able to go with the best people for you.”

As the big day finally arrives, and excitement builds, the most important thing to remember is that this weekend is supposed to be fun. No matter the plan, wear a fancy outfit, take hundreds of pictures, and enjoy the weekend.
