Golf Falls to Churchill, Whitman After Strong Start to the Season

The Varsity Golf team had matches this week on Monday, Sept. 11 at Poolesville Golf Course and Wednesday, Sept. 13 at Northwest Golf Course. Barons placed last in both matches.

On Monday, Sept. 11, the team fought hard but ended up getting 4th against a tough group of teams. Churchill finished first, with Whitman and Poolesville following them. B-CC finished close behind Poolesville with only four strokes off of third place. When asked about yesterday’s match, Sophomore Emery Brown said, “It was good competition and a tough course, but we made it work.” The Barons had a combined score of 161, and the top B-CC scores from the round are as follows:

– Senior Captain Bennett Galper 38

– Sophomore Emery Brown 39

– Senior Mack Fisher 42

– Junior Emmanuel Caunegre 42

– Senior Captain Asher Lewis 43

Later in the week, the Barons bounced back, tying for third place in their match on Wednesday. Whitman finished first with a score of 152, Wooton finished second with 158, and B-CC and Richard Montgomery tied for third with a score of 161, respectively. The top B-CC scores from Wednesday’s round are as follows:

– Sophomore Emery Brown 38

– Senior Captain Asher Lewis 39

– Senior Mack Fisher 41

– Sophomore Stewart Allan 42

– Senior Captain Bennett Galper 43

The team looks to bounce back in their next match on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Little Bennett Golf Course.
