After an 8-0 start for the Barons, B-CC looked to continue their dominance against Albert Einstein High School. The Titans arrived on Wednesday night, Jan. 10, at the Palace and were quickly sent back home by the Barons. Junior Frances Doyle led the team with 14 points and helped the team improve to 9-0 with a 67-40 win. Even with the slam-dunk win for the Barons, B-CC looked ahead to Whitman’s arrival to town on Friday night, Jan. 12.

The Battle of Bethesda was packed with fans for the intense fight between B-CC and Whitman. However, the game was not much of a contest, as from the opening tip the Barons took over. B-CC tripled the Viking’s score in the first quarter. For the rest of the game, Whitman could not close the gap, and the Barons cruised to an easy victory with a score of 57-45. Senior Guard Anna Terceyak led the team with 16 points to lift the Barons to victory. Anna said, “A big focus for us as a team was to just be ourselves and to not let the pressure and hype of the game get to us too much.”

The Barons started the season with a perfect 10-0 record and have been unstoppable since. With such an impressive beginning, the Barons might be the favorite to bring home a State Championship for B-CC.
