On Monday, March 2nd, the Barons’ season sadly ended after a tough loss to Walter Johnson 53-42. The Barons kept it close throughout the game, answering back every time WJ scored and taking a four-point lead into halftime. B-CC had a lot of assists and was making a lot of shots throughout the first half, but at the beginning of the second half, WJ went on a run to take the lead. The Barons maintained control of the game, leading by two with 4 minutes left in the game, but then, WJ went on an 11-0 run and cruised on to a win.

Offensively, the Barons did a good job in executing on their shots and playing as a team throughout the game. As Senior Massimo Person stated, “[They] shot the ball really well and were able to create for each other”. Good shooting and passing help the Barons keep the game close, even if they did end up losing in the end.

Defensively, they made WJ work for points, guarding players well and making them move the ball around to score. Person said, “[They] defended one-on-one pretty well and limited the amount of unassisted points”. Strong defense was also key to keeping the game close against a strong opponent. Person continued, “[They] got kind of stagnant on defense and struggled with help defense”. But overall, the Barons put up a good fight against a good team.

Summing up the season as a whole, B-CC had some really important wins, beating strong opponents like Wootton and Whitman, and showed up to the challenge that comes with a new coaching staff. As Person summed up, “ [We] played with the cards they were dealt, and played pretty well overall throughout the entire season.”
