Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School will host its annual International Night on Thursday, February 12, 2026, bringing together students, families, and community members to celebrate the diverse cultures represented within the B-CC community. International Night provides students with a platform to educate their peers and showcase their cultural backgrounds through performances, presentations, and interactive displays.
The evening will feature a wide range of cultural elements, including traditional foods, dances, music, poetry, and clothing. Student groups work collaboratively to highlight meaningful aspects of their heritage, allowing attendees to experience cultures from around the world in one shared space.
The organizer of the event, Ms. Tajaddini, emphasized the dedication and effort required to bring International Night to life. “For weeks, student groups have been working on their performances like cultural dances, poems, and songs,” Tajaddini explained. From rehearsing choreography to coordinating costumes and music, students invest significant time outside of class to ensure their performances are both accurate and engaging.
This behind-the-scenes preparation plays a crucial role in the success of the event. The commitment demonstrated by students helps ensure that the night runs smoothly and that each culture is represented respectfully and authentically. For many participants, International Night is not only a performance opportunity but also a chance to share personal stories and traditions with the larger school community.
International Night is expected to be an exciting and meaningful celebration of the diverse identities that make up Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. “For months, we have been preparing for this special night,” Tajaddini said. “[Everyone’s] hard work will make this a memorable show.” With its combination of cultural expression, student collaboration, and community involvement, International Night continues to be a cherished tradition at B-CC.
