On Thursday and Friday, December 12 and 13, 2025, Bethesda Chevy Chase held their annual winter concert. Students displayed a variety of talents for the entire B-CC community to see. This event featured performances from both the lower and upper choruses, chamber singers, the drum line, jazz band, as well as the upper and lower orchestras.

Lots of work and preparation went into creating a successful concert. Junior Holiday Gilmore, who plays the French horn, is a part of the upper orchestra. “We focus on playing the music as a group, but also in sections, which is just with your instrument or other instruments alike, so we can really focus on specific parts and do the best we can,” Gilmore explains.

All preparation led to an accomplished performance. Holiday Gilmore explains the intense practice that went into the winter concert. “All the performances went really well…we practiced a lot, and we had it down,” Gilmore says. There were also last-minute changes that had to be made to ensure the smoothness of the performance. “There were some things that we had to change for different performances, but we got through it pretty well, so it was good,” Gilmore finishes.

Audiences enjoyed the concert thoroughly, sharing wide praise for each performance. Specifically, junior Max Esfahani was incredibly impressed with multiple aspects of the concert. “My favorite part had to be the Philharmonic orchestra,” Esfahani shared. Along with this part of the orchestra, Esfahani explained how: “the cello section was amazing, but everything together was just beautiful”.

Overall, the 2025 B-CC winter concert was a success. All of the hard work and practice paid off to create a special show for the entire community to enjoy.
