B-CC has earned gold status on the AP School Honor Roll for the 2023-24 school year. Last year, B-CC was also recognized with gold status, proving its commitment to academic excellence.
The honor roll, managed by the National College Board, evaluates schools based on enrollment, college culture, college credit, and college optimization. In addition to being an International Baccalaureate school, B-CC has been recognized for its esteemed AP program as well, offering 28 AP courses.
This year, B-CC students took a total of 2,328 exams, and 1,872 (80%) of them were passing scores. A passing score is a three or above on the exam. B-CC excels in the college optimization category of the honor roll requirements because AP classes are offered not only for upperclassmen but for freshmen and sophomores as well. “[This] opens a window earlier for our school. We have a higher chance of scoring in that criteria because ninth graders can take it,” said Ms. Yener, B-CC’s AP coordinator.
Freshman Zack Ingber said, “Taking an AP class has taught me studying habits that I wouldn’t have learned otherwise. The course content is super interesting and it creates many more opportunities for me in the future.”
B-CC continues to make sure its students have a fostering environment with lots of opportunities for academic rigor.
