With Halloween just around the corner, Barons are preparing to get dressed up for the holiday. Many Barons plan to go to Halloween parties or spend the night trick–or-treating. This year, mini-skirts, corsets, and sleeveless tanks are especially popular.
A major trend for this upcoming Halloween is dressing up in group costumes. From large groups to duos, this year, matching with friends seems to have taken the BCC community by storm. B-CC junior Claire Giulie says, “I’m gonna be a bee, and my friend Emma is going to be a ladybug.” This iconic costume pairing has gone viral on TikTok and Pinterest, making it one of the biggest expected trends for Halloween 2025. Many girls are pairing up with their friends to create this costume, adding their own signature twist on the trend. A few other popular group costumes include Alice in Wonderland and Pitch Perfect. Junior Hailey Jenkins shares, “I’m going to be DC superheroes with my friends, and then Hogwarts students.”
Since B-CC students are embracing the festive culture of costuming, how will they be celebrating as a mermaid or a Disney princess? While some might assume high school students are “too old” to trick or treat, many students enjoy participating in the lighthearted act. Moriarty shared, “I love to go trick or treating, and then going to hang out with my friends after,” proving it is never too old to bring out your inner child.
Many high school students want to go out, as Jenkins says, “Hopefully there’s a Halloween party.” Other students, like Junior Wren Stout, who adds, “I will be dressing up three different times in super fun costumes and going to Halloween parties with my friends where we can take cute pictures.” Halloween parties take high school students by storm, making kids even more excited for the season.
However, many other students prefer a more laid-back approach. Stout states, “We [plan on] watching scary movies and baking Halloween goods.” Spooky movies are also taking over streaming apps, with new releases this year, including horror films like “Megan 2.”
Whether it’s dressing up for a party or getting cozy in bed to watch an iconic Halloween film, Barons are more than excited for the weekend ahead.
