Every summer, a new slate of TV shows and movies take the world by storm, and this summer was no exception. Audiences received long-awaited additions to some classic movie franchises, as well as some brand-new, highly anticipated films. There were also plenty of fan favorite TV shows that premiered exciting new seasons this summer.
This summer was big for superhero movies, sports movies, and action movies. In July, Marvel released their new film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, while Superman became a new installment in the classic DC franchise. Happy Gilmore 2 came as the sequel to Adam Sandler’s classic 1996 golf film, Happy Gilmore, and in June, Brad Pitt released his new racing movie, F1. This summer also featured the eighth and final installment of Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible series, entitled Mission: Impossible-The Final Reckoning.
The last few months have also included new seasons of television series that have taken over televisions everywhere. These include reality dating shows such as the seventh season of Love Island USA and the second season of Love Is Blind: UK. This summer was also host to several non-reality TV shows, such as the third and final season of Amazon Prime’s The Summer I Turned Pretty, which has sparked a viral debate between “Team Conrad” and “Team Jeremiah.”
Arguably, 2025 turned out to be one of the best summers of movies and TV shows audiences have seen in a while. Hopefully, summer 2026 will bring even more films and TV shows for everyone to enjoy.
