At the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, B-CC introduced several new staff members to the school community. One of these staff members is Eliza Reynolds, an addition to the social studies department.
Ms. Reynolds was a student at American University and taught as a student teacher at B-CC during the 2024-2025 school year. Ms. Reynolds worked alongside Ms. Bowman, another teacher in the social studies department, and taught AP United States History. Ms. Reynolds said, “I loved my student teaching experience [at B-CC]. When I began applying to teaching jobs, B-CC was my top choice because of the wonderful students and staff in this building.” Ms. Reynolds also shared, “A goal that I have for myself this year is to think outside the box.” She hopes to teach her students history in creative ways and create an engaging environment.
Although there can be many difficulties of being a first-year teacher, Ms. Reynolds said, “I am so excited to be here, and I can’t wait to see what the school year has in store for us.”
