As the school year gets underway, the hallways are full of students chatting about their summer adventures and how they spent their time. The break allowed students to recharge and get ready for the new school year.
Students filled their time with sports, vacations, work, or camp, just to name a few. “I’ll miss sleeping in and traveling with my family,” Brooke Trabert, a freshman, said, reminiscing about the summertime. When asked about a highlight from the summer, she added, “I can’t choose one, but I’m going to see Tate McRae this weekend.” This allows the summer fun to continue into the fall and the start of the school year.
It is important to relax and have adventures before being back in the classroom. While some chose to catch up on sleep and go to bed early, others, like junior Evelyn Dobbs-Sohn, decided to stay up late. “I am a night owl, I went to sleep at 2-3 a.m.,” she said. Dobbs-Sohn did more than just sleep, though: “I went to a rock beach in France with just my friends. We took a bus to a nearby town and went shopping there.”
As summer comes to a close, students reflect on the months filled with friends and family, and get ready to go back to school.
