Anticipation creeps into the hallways of B-CC as the 2025-2026 football season approaches. On Friday, September 5, the Varsity Boys’ first football game will take place at Churchill High School—a historic rival of B-CC. The first football game marks the kickoff to the new school year, and for many, it has been eagerly anticipated.
Junior Dez Markarian shared his experience in preparation for his first year on the varsity football team: “Weightlifting started a while back, a couple months ago, and full pads started a couple weeks ago.” Despite the first game not yet having happened, the team has been actively preparing for months.
Football season is just as big a deal for students watching from the bleachers as it is for the players. Freshman Cora Ayers shared her excitement for her first football game as a B-CC student: “I am excited for getting ready and having team spirit.”
Football games are a chance for Barons to show off their creativity and school spirit through themed outfits. Many students participate, wearing an outfit inspired by the theme for that game, such as “USA” or “neon.” Ayers said, “I am planning on dressing up for the games.”
Football games allow students to show school spirit and loyalty to B-CC. They are an iconic part of high school that students look forward to every year. To take part in the tradition, help by packing out the stadium and show up in support of your school!
