The 2025-26 school year is underway, and a new year of sports is on the horizon for B-CC. As the upcoming season approaches, a few teams have made shifts in their coaching positions. With some beloved coaches moving on and others moving up to a new spot, there is sure to be plenty of excitement in the coming seasons.
One of these changes took place within the B-CC Cross Country team, which saw assistant coach Jim Hage swap places with head coach Gildon Kirk. This will be Hage’s fourth season with the team, but first as head coach. Thankfully, with Kirk still assisting the team, Hage will have support for his new position. Due to the exemplary season that the team had last year, with the girls’ team placing first in the state and the boys’ team placing second, Hage is not planning on making many modifications this year: “The only change I would make is to have the boys win this time”.
Cross Country is not the only sport with a difference in coaching; a few other B-CC teams will be introducing a new regime this year. Coach Ingalls has stepped down as the head of the Girls’ Basketball team, and Coach Baker will be taking her position. Ingalls brought the team to a state championship appearance in 2024, giving Baker a great baseline for this upcoming season.
With Fall Sports beginning, B-CC has plenty of games to look forward to over the coming months. Good luck, Barons!
