On Monday, June 9, B-CC’s class of 2025 had their graduation ceremony at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. While some went due to siblings and friends graduating, others attended to graduate themselves (The Tattler appreciates all the graduated readers). In case you missed it, here’s what you missed:
The graduation ceremony followed convention, with B-CC graduates walking the stage in their gowns and decorated caps to receive their diplomas. Due to the number of students graduating this year, the ceremony took upwards of an hour, but all were eventually recognized.
The commencement speaker was Moise Fokou, a businessman and former NFL player who played at UMD for four years. In his speech, he focused on community solidarity, the importance of supporting those around you, and the power of resilience. “I encourage you to do something, every day, that scares you.” This included a religious angle, in which he stressed the importance of prayer. His words of strength, even under stress, were highly impactful given how so many people in the audience were transitioning into the more adult, more chaotic world.
The Tattler hopes to see all incoming seniors at graduation at the same time next year!
