On Tuesday, June 10, B-CC held a ceremony to honor and celebrate junior class students who received awards for various outstanding qualities. Institutions such as Smith College and the University of Rochester sponsored the awards, inviting English teachers to nominate students who excel in leadership, service, innovation, academics, and extracurricular activities.
One of the award winners, Lucas Gerlach-Mack, shared, “I had no idea I was getting this award, I’m so surprised and proud!” Lucas has worked hard over the past few years, accumulating over 500 Student Service Learning (SSL) hours while coaching kids in soccer and diving.
This year’s award winners include Eden Brenner, Rayna Kaye, Faris Smith, Daniel Skendaj, Lucas Gerlach-Mack, Noah Sonfield, Nouran Ebrahem, Husna Zakaria, and Luna Acosta-Hall. Teachers and staff attended to support and honor all who worked hard for these accomplishments. Congratulations to all the winners!
