The annual B-CC Spring Concert took place on April 23 and 24 in the auditorium. The school’s award-winning music department put on an outstanding show, beginning Wednesday evening with the choral groups and instrumental ensembles, followed by performances from the upper instrumental ensemble and percussion ensemble on Thursday evening. This year’s concert featured special highlights, including two vocalists performing with the jazz ensemble and B-CC’s Ritmo Latino dancers joining the jazz ensemble for a lively collaboration.
Preparation for the Spring Concert begins early in the year, with musicians practicing intensely five days a week starting in January. Alexei Zimmer, a senior performing in her fourth and final Spring Concert, reflected, “My favorite part of the concert was getting to sing our final alumni song, Irish Blessing, on stage with all the other seniors while the younger choir members encircled the audience.” This emotional moment has long been a beloved tradition for the choir. Zimmer added, “I have been looking forward to that moment since I was a freshman!”
