The Varsity Girls Basketball Team beat the Whitman Vikings on March 3, securing a 63-55 win in a thrilling game.
From start to finish, the game was back-and-forth. The score remained tight all four quarters, but the Barons managed to pull away in the final minutes.
Senior Frances Doyle was the standout performer of the night, leading her team with 20 points. Doyle’s effort not only helped the Barons clinch the win but also marked a significant milestone in her high school career. Doyle scored her 1000th career point during the game. After the game, the Barons took a moment to honor Doyle’s achievement. She was presented with a personalized basketball and a large banner that read “Congrats on 1000 Points.”
Doyle’s performance was supported by her teammates. Senior Sasha Barr added 12 points, and Senior Elisha Robinson racked in 11. When asked about the game, Senior Captain Sasha Barr said, “I felt really confident in our ability to play as a team and make the most efficient play to lead us to success.”
This win advanced the team to the regional finals, where they will face off against the Winston Churchill Bulldogs at 6:30pm, on Wednesday, March 5, at home.
