On Wednesday, February 19, from 5 to 8 p.m., B-CC’s auditorium will transform into a lively showcase of the community’s cultures for its annual International Night. This highly anticipated event celebrates the school’s diverse community through displays, traditional cuisine, and performances by B-CC students and families.
This year, 35 countries will be represented, allowing guests to explore all cultural traditions through interactive exhibits. Some countries that will be featured include: Haiti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Venezuela, Iran, Phillippines, Indonesia, and China
B-CC’s hip-hop team B-CC Moves will perform a Hispanic version of hip-hop: reggaeton.
Junior Lucia Bermudez de Castro Noguera who helped choreograph the pieces shared her excitement about the performance. She said, “This performance means a lot to my community as we can show that side of Hispanic culture that has never been showcased at our school. Along with other dance styles such as salsa, bachata, and merengue that are beautifully represented through Ritmo Latino, reggaeton is also essential to the Hispanic culture. This is a wonderful opportunity for B-CC Moves to share with the school!”
International Night is a unique opportunity for students, staff, and families to come together to learn about and celebrate the many cultures represented in B-CC halls. Doors open at 5 p.m., and all are welcome!
