B-CC Boys Varsity Basketball showcased a dominant performance in their home win against rival Walter Johnson this Tuesday, beating them 74-48.
Junior Tim Byrd led the way for the Barons, scoring 21 points, and shooting 73% on two-point field goals. Within the first few minutes into the game, Byrd showcased his top-tier skills in attacking the basket, shifting by his defender, and scoring. Byrd set his teammates up for open shots by constantly setting screens, allowing them to drive to the basket.
Senior Lucas Allen had a good game as well, scoring 11 points on 60% shooting from the field. Allen did a phenomenal job drawing several fouls, allowing for free-throw opportunities, and he had great footwork in the paint.
In the first half of the game, the Baron’s well-executed ball movement led to several open layups and a few three-point shots. At the end of the second quarter, B-CC was up by 20 points with a score of 41-21.
In the second half, the Barons maintained their ball movement and took over on defense, racking up steals.
The Barons took down Walter Johnson by 26 points. This win puts the Barons overall record at 8-6. The Baron’s next game will be against Wootton, away on February 10.
