On February 1, B-CC Varsity Swim and Dive competed in Divisionals and crushed the competition. The team broke records Saturday night and blew the competition out of the water, showing the other schools what to expect at Metros.
Divisionals are known to bring challenging competition. Only a select few from the swim and dive teams are chosen to compete, and those who perform well earn a spot at Metros.
B-CC gave all this past weekend, ending the meet in fourth place with a new MCPS and B-CC record from Junior Virginia Hinds who won the girl’s 200-yard freestyle. This is not her only record this season, with her 100-yard freestyle being the fastest time in MCPS this season.
In addition to the huge wins from Hinds, Senior Victoria Morse, Alice Caiazza-Blum and Junior Hailey Hammond won their 200-yard freestyle relay event, posting the fastest time in MCPS this season.
B-CC’s swim team broke records and demonstrated their competitive spirit. They are hoping to continue this streak into the next week by working hard at practice to showcase their best work at Metros, starting with dive on February 4th until Saturday, February 8th for finals.
