On Saturday, January 4, B-CC Girls Swim and Dive competed against the Richard Montgomery Rockets. After some tight races, B-CC fell to RM with a final score of 98-88.
Despite the loss, the crowd was electric and helped give B-CC the energy they needed to put up a fight.
B-CC held their own against a tough team who claimed the spot as a top team last year by winning Metros. It was a close fight but Richard Montgomery pulled away during the relays. “The girls really battled out and it was a tough meet but a good competition,” said Junior Summer Smith.
Senior Alice Caiazza-Blum scored big in the 500-meter freestyle and won her event. Junior Virgina Hinds also scored six points in the 100-yard freestyle, blowing her competition out of the water. The Barons will face RM again in the post-season and are hoping for a different outcome.
B-CC looks to bounce back against Churchill at the next meet on Saturday, January 11.
