In a thrilling Friday night showdown on December 13, B-CC Girls Varsity Basketball secured a dramatic 49-48 victory over Seneca Valley, sealed by senior Elisha Robinson’s clutch shot at the buzzer. With the win, the Barons remain undefeated at 4-0, continuing their impressive early-season run.
The game came down to the final possession with the Barons trailing 48-47. After two missed free throws by B-CC, Seneca Valley’s head coach was assessed a timely technical foul, ultimately giving the Barons the ball back with just over five seconds remaining.
Out of the huddle, the Barons executed a perfect inbound play. Robinson, cool under pressure, received the ball near the elbow, took a couple of dribbles to create space, and pulled up for a mid-range jumper over two defenders.
As the ball hung in the air, the gym was silent and everyone watched. The shot banked off the backboard and into the net as the buzzer sounded, sending the B-CC bench spilling onto the court and the home crowd into chaos. Teammates mobbed Robinson in a celebration fitting for such a dramatic finish.
Senior Sasha Barr led the way for the Barons, scoring a game-high 20 points, including several clutch three-pointers to keep B-CC within striking distance. Guard Abby Seo added 12 points, continuing her strong freshman campaign. Her calm playmaking and timely buckets provided a spark throughout the second half.
Coach Ryan Ingalls commended the team’s resilience during the chaotic final moments but emphasized that bigger challenges lie ahead. “The bulk of our schedule hasn’t come yet, and the upcoming division play will be a test,” Ingalls said. “This was a great win, but we need to stay focused.”
The Barons now sit at 4-0, riding high on momentum and confidence as they gear up for two away games this week: on Wednesday against Springbrook, and a crucial divisional matchup against rival Walter Johnson this Friday.
