On Friday, December 13th, B-CC’s Chamber Singers brought the holiday spirit to Annapolis for a special performance at the Maryland Governor’s Mansion. They performed a variety of holiday songs in the “Red Room” of the mansion in front of Governor Wes Moore.
After a captivating performance, each student had the opportunity to personally meet the Governor. In recognition of their performance, he presented the students with the official Governor’s citation. This is a recognition is given to honor and celebrate individuals and groups within Maryland.
B-CC Chamber Singer Maya Fritz said, “ It was incredible to perform for and meet Governor Wes Moore as he is such a charismatic person. He made sure to shake each of our hands and encouraged us to pursue our passions. While at first I was very nervous, this soon wore off as we continued the hour-long performance. The setting meant that we were all very focused and intent on singing our parts correctly and strongly. ”
This experience showcased the dedication of the B-CC chamber singers, who also performed multiple concerts throughout December. Their performance was the kick-off for holiday celebrations for the Governor and his guests!
