B-CC Girls Varsity Basketball entered the season with high expectations, and so far, they have matched them. With a dominant start to the season, the Barons have outscored their opponents by a combined 111-40 across their first two games. Leading the way is senior captain Frances Doyle, whose scoring ability and great team defense have set the tone for the Barons.
In their season opener, B-CC took on Rockville High School and made a statement. The Barons’ defense was smothering, holding the Rams to just 15 points while racking up 61 of their own. Doyle poured in 19 points, and senior captain Sasha Barr chipped in with 12 points and 2 three-pointers, showcasing the team’s balance.
Their second game was more of the same, as B-CC cruised past Poolesville High School 50-25. Doyle and Barr once again led the scoring charge, while the Barons’ defense was once again just as dominant, holding the Falcons to under 30 points. Senior captain Elisha Robinson had 5 steals and Doyle had 17 rebounds. Pushing the ball, forcing turnovers, and converting them into easy fast-break points were key to the Baron’s success.
The upcoming schedule will test the Barons as they aim to keep their undefeated start alive. Next, they will face Seneca Valley at home this Friday, and then they play at Richard Montgomery. Both are expected to be fast-paced, high-scoring matchups. Later that week, B-CC will play Springbrook and their division rival Walter Johnson, one of their toughest opponents of the season.
