As the winter sports season begins, attention has turned to indoor track and field. Last season, B-CC had a phenomenal run, attending the MPSSAA 4A Track and Field State Championships, and are now striving for an even better season. This past week, the Barons had their first scrimmage meet of the indoor season at PG Sports Complex.
In the Men’s 1600 meters, junior Tobin Connelly showed out for the Barons, outrunning everyone and taking first place. Connelly clocked in at 4 minutes, 40.63 seconds, enough to narrowly beat a runner from Albert Einstein who finished 0.02 seconds after him. Senior Cherian Mampilly finished fourth, less than six seconds behind first.
In the high jump event, athletes from both the men’s and women’s teams showed out: senior Fiona Narrod-Malcolm finished in second place, junior Jasper Sandmeyer came in third and senior De’Tavious Graves got 4th place.
The indoor track & field season will officially begin on Tuesday, December 10 at the PG Sports Complex.
