The Barons ended a successful fall competition season with an October 26 competition at Blair. “Overall our team had an extremely high level of all components of our routine, it was awesome being able to see everything come together and work to our full potential this year,” Junior Ellie Seiler said.
They performed a very technical routine lasting around 2 minutes and 30 seconds. It included jumps, tumbling, dance, individual stunts, and pyramids.
Moving past counties, cheer preserved through adversity as they moved to regionals. The team had a misscore during regionals, and the judges were not willing to rewatch or re-count.
“To feel that they weren’t even willing to give us a second chance and fix their mistake was so frustrating,” Cheer Captain Izzy Alexander said.
The treatment left the barons defeated, as they were supposed to receive a score much higher than the one they received. With much riding on this competition, the disappointment hit the team. Looking forward, the Barons will continue to work hard for the next competition season.
