As spooky season quickly approaches, many Barons are wondering what to wear for Halloween. While Leopard and Cheetah costumes have taken the internet by storm, the question still stands: What are the most popular trends one can expect to see this year?
After consulting with various students on their predictions for 2024’s most popular costumes, the list ranged from movie characters — including the cast of Disney’s “Inside Out” — to iconic concept costumes, like the Kiss/Marry/Kill trio, and more. B-CC junior Charlize Lenchak shared, “I definitely think we’ll see Love Island bombshells, Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, and pop artists like Sabrina Carpenter or Chappell Roan! Maybe Deadpool or Jojo Siwa too.” Many of these costumes are inspired by trends on TikTok, such as the Dallas Cowboys “Thunder” dance routine and Sabrina Carpenter’s music video for her song Taste, proving that the app is a major factor for many when deciding this year’s costumes.
As the days go by, the clock is ticking to place costume orders — but some Barons are way ahead of schedule, with their outfits already planned. Junior Sari Brownlee stated, “I’m going to do a couples costume with my boyfriend; I’m going to be a cop and he’ll be a prisoner. My best friend and I also plan to go as Tom and Jerry.” For those who don’t have a couple’s plan in store, group costumes are the way to go. “My friends and I are going as first responders, so each of us will be something like a nurse, firefighter, cop, soldier, [or] lifeguard,” said junior Ariella Klugman.
Picking a costume isn’t the only thing students are looking forward to this Halloween — it’s the experience that matters! Junior Maddie Lash said that her favorite part of Halloween is being able to spend time with friends and getting dressed up together: “We’re planning to do a group costume and I’m really looking forward to it.” Overall, it is clear that this Halloween will be filled with creative costumes and exciting memories.
