Henry Eichner took home the Division 1 Pitcher of the Year award to cap off an incredible junior season.
Eichner led B-CC’s elite pitching staff during the 2024 season. He had a 2.39 Earn Run Average (ERA) in 41 Innings Pitched (IP). His contributions helped the Barons become a top-ranked team in the state. “For me, I’m super happy with the progress I made from last year to this year. If you told me last year I’d be where I’m at right now, I’d be thrilled,” Eichner said.
In his final start of the 2024 regular season, an April 30 loss to Sherwood, Eichner pitched six innings as the Barons only gave up three runs, none of which Eichner earned. “As a team, although we didn’t make it as far as we wanted to, we played the best stretch of games I’ve been a part of at B-CC, and we were ranked number one in the state for a healthy part of the season.”
A blistering fastball and pinpoint control don’t just happen overnight, and Eichner knew he had to put the work in to achieve his baseball goals. To him, the award “means a lot, because we play in the best public school division in the state, with plenty of [Division 1] commits and one of the toughest schedules.”
Eichner hopes that both his personal success and the team’s success will continue through his senior season. With him headlining a dangerous rotation, the Barons are sure to be competitive next year.
